Aging Services
Franklin County Office on Aging provides activities and programs geared towards the elderly population of the community.

Animal Control
The County of Franklin Animal Control Department enforces local animal regulatory and state humane laws. Department Animal Control Officers are authorized to investigate possible animal related law violations and take appropriate enforcement action.

Broadband Authority
The Franklin County Broadband Authority was created to address the need for increased access to affordable high-speed data, internet, and telecommunications services.

Blue Ridge Water & Soil
The Blue Ridge Soil and Water Conservation District was organized under authority of the Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District Law (Senate Bill No. 38 passed by the 1938 session of the General Assembly) and was formed on September 28, 1939 encompassing Bedford, Franklin and Henry Counties.

Building Inspections
The Building Inspections Office is responsible for ensuring public health, safety and welfare associated with the construction and use of buildings. The department inspects all building construction for compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.

Children's Services Act (CSA)
The program is to implement a collaborative system of services and funding that is child-centered, family-focused, and community-based when addressing the strengths and needs of troubled and at-risk youth and their families.

Commissioner of Revenue
The Commissioner's office is responsible for assessing all new construction as well as newly sub-divided parcels of real estate. The office maintains the land books and administers the Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Permanently disabled citizen.

The County Administrator is charged with the development and implementation of all programs and policies.

Family Resource Center
The Franklin County Family Resource Center's mission is to promote safe and healthy living environments for Franklin County families in crisis who are victims of domestic violence.

Finance
The Franklin County Finance Department is responsible for safeguarding the County's assets, developing and maintaining superior financial planning and reporting, and maintaining employee payroll and leave records.

The Franklin Center
The Franklin Center for Advanced Learning and Enterprise is managed by the Franklin County Workforce Development Consortium, a partnership offering employment, training, and educational services to employers and citizens of Franklin County.

General Properties
The mission of the General Properties department is to provide timely and cost effective maintenance on the buildings and properties which are owned and operated by Franklin County.

Franklin County's new Online GIS Office is a fresh approach to delivering services to the public. We are now providing Web access to local data, more online viewers, plus access to the services the GIS Office provides.
